“A Denton film student who followed Rodriguez for a documentary last year found the outcome both surprising and worrisome.
“The odds were stacked against Ciro,” said Patricio Salinas, a University of North Texas graduate student and former Laredo TV reporter. His documentary, Texas 28, followed Rodriguez in a primary loss last spring, along the way showing the multilayered texture of South Texas politics.”
