Tagged: Mexico, MissouriPosted on: December 13th, 2006“Sister Francine Koehler, who directs the Hispanic Ministry at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1115 Locust St., lit a candle Tuesday in celebration of the feast day of Mexico’s patron saint, la Virgen de Guadalupe.
The holiday, which commemorates the appearance of the Virgin’s spirit in 1531 to Juan Diego Cuauhtlatoatzin, an indigenous Mexican, is celebrated every year on Dec. 12.”
