“Attorneys for three of the four people charged with conspiring to steal money from prospective home-buyers and investors through a now-defunct Vista company known as First Latino Group told a jury Tuesday that their clients were not leaders in the organization and are not guilty of the charges against them.
The defense attorneys for Franklin Ontiveros, 43, of Oceanside, Johnnie Mae Johnson, 57, of Vista, and Jacob Miller, 75, of Bonsall, made opening statements Tuesday morning to jurors in Superior Court Judge Howard Shores courtroom before the first witness in their trial took the stand.”
