Knowledge is Power!
“Fox Pan American Sports FPAS, operator of leading Spanish-language sports cable networks Fox Sports en Español in the United States and Fox Sports Latin America in the Spanish-speaking Americas, has teamed up with MSN to create the preeminent Hispanic online sports destination at www.foxsportsla.msn.com. The new site will offer fans and marketing partners a rich blend of Spanish-language editorial content, unique sports applications and exclusive online video from the FPAS networks. As part of the agreement, foxsportsla.msn.com will become the primary Spanish-language sports content destination on the MSN network and provide its users with unprecedented access to Fox Sports en Español and Fox Sports Latin America’s year-round lineup of the most important sporting events around the globe.
The deal marks a change in interactive media strategy for Fox Sports en Español and Fox Sports Latin America. After previous alliances with other Spanish-language portals, the networks have taken full editorial and production control of their Internet properties, with the goal of creating the category’s deepest, most informative and video-rich Spanish-language sports sites. Content and presentation of the sites will be customized for users in the U.S., Mexico and South America to reflect the unique sports interests of each region. MSN will offer all video streaming via MSN Video.
”This new relationship with MSN, a market leader across the Americas, is a major step forward for our networks and viewers,” said David Sternberg, executive vice president and general manager of Fox Sports en Español and Fox Sports Latin America. “We look forward to creating and jointly commercializing with MSN the premier Spanish-language sports Web sites in the hemisphere.”
As the exclusive Spanish-language sports destination on MSN, foxsportsla.msn.com will feature content tailored to the sporting interests of Spanish-speaking audiences in the United States and Latin America, including comprehensive sports news wire feeds, statistics, league and tournament results and standings, opinion columns by Fox Sports en Español and Fox Sports Latin America on-air talent, fantasy games, photo galleries, audio and video clips, and network program schedules. The sites also will offer special coverage and features for top-tier events and Latin American tournaments, including the Copa Toyota Libertadores and Copa Nissan Sudamericana, the exclusive programming crown jewels of the FPAS networks.
Fox Pan American Sports has also collaborated with MSN to sell all advertising on the co-branded site, allowing advertisers interested in reaching the coveted 18-49 Hispanic male demographic access to an unprecedented one-stop shopping opportunity on MSN. In addition, MSN and Fox Pan American Sports will work together to offer advertisers integrated packages of online and telecast elements tied to the networks’ exclusive programming properties, among them the prestigious Copa Toyota Libertadores, Copa Nissan Sudamericana, FIFA Club World Cup and the InterLiga tournament. “
