“Testimony is set to begin in a San Diego courtroom today in the trial of four people accused of duping North County investors and prospective Latino homebuyers out of thousands of dollars with promises of large returns and affordable homes.
The four defendants include the founder of First Latino, the now-defunct Vista company at the center of allegations. Prosecutors contend that company officials took some $1.4 million from investors and pledged to build homes — but never did.”
