Knowledge is Power!

Just in case you didn’t get my e-mail alert. I will be having a type of fund raiser that I am calling ‘The HispanicTips’ Twelve Days of Christmas SiteSaver‘ starting this Monday the 11th through the 22nd of December in an effort to keep HispanicTips going.

After sending my alert, I had the realization that while I want to make money (who doesn’t) I am not worried about me. I have excellent skills, heck I redesigned the site by myself in about two days working with html, css y php and a database with almost 20,000 records. In my opinion everyone needs a good website. It simply isn’t an option anymore. I can find work, that isn’t the problem. I realized that I was more concerned with the loss of a useful and valuable tool for Hispanics and Latinos as well as those interested in our community. I am truly concerned with the future of my community and country and I believe that knowledge is power. Without knowledge my community won’t be able to efficiently harness the power our growing demographic numbers could provide. We need to educate our youth of course, but we also need to educate ourselves. That is where I feel that HispanicTips is an asset that shouldn’t be lost.

So entrepreneurial dreams aside, I want some of the larger players - the RNC, DNC and America’s business community to stand up and support this site and the education of my community. I chose to create this site and service because I wanted to do something that I was passionate about and that I felt could earn me enough money to take the place of a job.

Gracias, Tomás
