“Bilingual skills and an interest in preventive health care are among the reasons Celaya and five other University of Arizona students have received $2,000 to $4,000 scholarships meant to encourage young Latinas to get into the public health field and improve health care for Latinos and others.
Prevention-based public health care aims to broaden access to health care and promote healthful practices in everyday life. It emphasizes outreach and education.”
