I am faced with a decision about the future of HispanicTips. It is my baby and I don’t want to leave or stop but there is a possibility that I may have to. Please help me save HispanicTips. I have included a press release below for any who may wish to read it. My apologizes if this is your first newsletter but I need to do this.
As a subscriber you know the quality of the service I provide and you know the value of this website firsthand. So starting this Monday the 11th through the 22nd of December (by which time I will have collected over 20,000 posts) I will be having a type of fund raiser that I am calling ‘The HispanicTips’ Twelve Days of Christmas SiteSaver.’ For this I have redesigned the website so that I could restructure/reinvent the site’s sponsorship model providing a way to sponsor sections and local areas at a reasonable price. Plus all sponsorships are at least 50% off.
Based on the results of these twelve days, I will make my decision on Christmas on the best way to move forward. I have faith that things will work out because of you and your co-subscribers and because of the value, quality and usefulness of what I do.
During this time I am seeking your help. I want Sponsors, Testimonials, Donations, Referrals and anything else that may help keep HispanicTips going.
- Sponsorships:
- Everything is at least 50% off resulting in prices between $25 and $5000.
- I would like to draw your attention to two of the newest options for sponsorship. Now you can sponsor a section such as a State, a Metro Area or a Subject Area! Think about getting a year on the Business, Musica or your home state’s or city’s page like Florida or Chicago.
These new section pages are now more prominent within the new design making this option affordable and targeted.
Plus soon they will be even more useful as I add the features you see on these pages.- Oro Sponsorships cost only $120 for a year right now.
- Cobre Contributors cost only $25 for a year right now.
- Plus, sponsors who help during this time get the designation of SiteSaver denoted by a little lifesaver
next to your name for as long as you are a sponsor. The lifesaver is a link to a page listing and thanking all sponsors. Your name and link will remain there forever as a special thanks. - You can learn more on my Advertising/Sponsorships page. Don’t worry if you don’t have a website or artwork, we can work something out that I am sure will make you happy.
- Testimonials:
I want to get some great testimonials. Anyone want to share your thoughts about HispanicTips and allow me to include your name and title. I know there are some well known people subscribed to my newsletters and I would love to hear from you. I would also love to hear from all of you regardless of position. Let me know how you use HispanicTips and/or your opinions. - Donations:
I have set up a donation button on every page that utilizes PayPal. Just look to left of any page. - Referrals:
Please let anyone and everyone know about HispanicTips. Do you know any famous, powerful or well-placed Hispanics? Please recommend my site to them.
I also have plans for the future of HispanicTips that depend on funding.
- I am going to add these other services to HispanicTips.
- An Hispanic-Latino Event calendar
- A Hispanic-Latino Job Board
- Your Hispanic-Latino Submitted News
- A Hispanic-Latino Directory
- All with free submissions in order to best help the community and you. You can begin to see what I have in mind on any State page like California.
- I also want and need to upgrade my web server
All of this takes money and if I can’t continue HispanicTips these plans are for naught. That is why I am asking for your help. Help me help our community. I promise if I am able to continue I will, for I truly believe that I am providing a useful, unique and novel service. If you want to know more about why I think this site is important to my community then I encourage you to read the press release below.
So if you or someone you know can help please don’t hesitate to contact me directly via e-mail tomas@hispanictips.com or call me at 310-439-9150 ( it is an LA number but I am not in LA – that is the magic of VOIP).

The HispanicTips’ Twelve Days of Christmas SiteSaver
HispanicTips.com: Stay Informed & Save Time – Comprehensive Daily Hispanic & Latino News – Knowledge is Power!
My name is Tomás. Please help me save a quality website that is both a valuable and useful tool for and about Hispanics and Latinos, HispanicTips.com located at www.hispanictips.com.
I run HispanicTips.com, the best and most comprehensive daily Hispanic and Latino news website. Today the site is at a crossroads in terms of funding. Why you might ask, is this worth your attention? I would start by saying that Hispanics are essential to the future of this country in terms of business, economics, politics, culture and social services. Did you know:
- 1 in 7 people in the United States is Hispanic,
- About 1 in 5 Americans aged 34 and younger is of Hispanic descent and
- Hispanics will number over 45 million on July 1, 2007 and 51.4 million by 2012 and account for 50% of the total population growth
However, these numbers don’t answer the question, do they? HispanicTips is worthy of your attention because knowledge is power and HispanicTips provides the best way to stay informed about an important and growing segment of our country’s population. For many (1 in 7) this is news for and about you, me, our families and friends.
The Hispanic and Latino community at large and in communities around the nation need knowledge to harness the power these demographic numbers could provide. Education is key at every level and until the advent of HispanicTips there was no one-stop source for educating oneself about Hispanic and Latino current events on a daily basis. Daily is the key. There is so much news that is occurring every day across a range of subjects and geographic locations that this information needs to collected, sorted and presented in ways that make it easy to stay informed. HispanicTips does just this. You could (and should) attend conferences, read the newspaper, listen to the radio and watch TV but nothing would give you such a quick and complete picture of the Hispanic and Latino impact. The quality and usefulness of the information that HispanicTips provides is proven by the over 1000 people subscribed to daily newsletters and the one million visitors a year that come to the site.
HispanicTips has in essence created a useful tool covering a new genre of daily relevant and comprehensive news allowing people to easily stay informed. Do you know anywhere else you can get 40 to 80 handpicked stories a day from around the nation about Hispanics and Latinos and the issues that are important to them in English? Now with close to 20,000 posts HispanicTips has become a living archive representing the the Hispanic and Latino community’s news for over a year and a half.
Readers have let me know what they think of the site saying: "love it," "informative," "helpful," "useful," "great" and "invaluable." I think this quote sums it up nicely, "It actually keeps me up to date on events that are important to me as a Latino. Also reading all these stories from around the country has given me a much clearer picture of the Latinos in this country." More readers quotes can be seen at www.hispanictips.com/readers-quotes/
I started HispanicTips in July of 2005 as a simple blog and it quickly morphed into a useful tool to stay informed. In August 2006 I left my job to work on HispanicTips full time. Now four months later I am swiftly running out of funds.
I want to both continue HispanicTips and expand its features and services. Neither will be possible if I can’t acquire the necessary funding. I am faced with a decision about the future of HispanicTips. I don’t want to leave or stop but there is a possibility that I may have to and this valuable service to the Hispanic and Latino community and this country may disappear. I am determined not to let this happen. Therefore, starting Monday the 11th through Friday the 22nd of December (by which time I will have collected over 20,000 posts) I will be having a type of fund raiser that I am calling ‘The HispanicTips’ Twelve Days of Christmas SiteSaver.’ Based on the results of these twelve days, I will make my decision on Christmas as to the future of HispanicTips.
During this time I am seeking the help of the Hispanic and Latino community as well as anyone who wishes to support my community. I want Sponsors, Testimonials, Donations, Referrals and anything else that may help keep HispanicTips going. Here are more details about what I doing to save HispanicTips.
