El Puente Community Center urges the LaPorte City Council to give careful consideration to the proposed ordinance that would try to prevent illegal immigrants from residing here. We urge all of you to think through what impact this proposal would have on the Hispanic community living and working now in LaPorte County and, more importantly, the negative signal it would send to future generations looking to live and invest in a Midwestern community.”
