Plaintiff in landmark case Serrano, 69, dies – Hacienda Heights, California
Tagged: California, studentPosted on: December 7th, 2006“In the late 1960s, John Serrano Jr. knew firsthand there were inequities in the California school system.
But in the 1970s, he helped change that.
He won a landmark court decision in 1976 that led to legislation to equalize the amount of money schools receive through property taxes, closing the gap of funding available to students regardless if they were in a rich and poor school district.”
