“There are holiday celebrations and then there’s El Jolgorio Navideno, the largest Latino Christmas party in New England. Five bands, including the internationally renowned Los Pleneros de la 21, traditional folk art exhibits and tables of everything from pernil (roast pork) to arroz con gandules (rice and pigeon peas) will all contribute to a Christmas gala like no other in the city.
Small wonder Saturday’s event - which raises funds for literacy and cultural programs - means “a merry Christmas celebration.” “
