“In southern Mexico, a group of bright-eyed children live in a rural orphanage far away from the modern conveniences that many American children take for granted. They attend the local school, if they have proper shoes to wear, and they live in an improbable place of love.

“They are the neediest of the needy,” said South Salem resident John Kerr, who has spearheaded a local group of volunteers that has adopted the orphanage as a service project. “Yet there is so much hope. You would be amazed at the spiritual and emotional changes that take place when you go there.”"
