“With the new regulation, Assistant Clerk-Recorder Cindy Franci said many of the passport applications are for Hispanic children.

“The children, who were born here and are U.S. citizens, have to have a passport,” Franci said.

Immigration representative for Nuestra Casa, Margarita Gonzalez, said many Latinos travel to Mexico to visit with family during the holidays, explaining the increase in applications”
