“Los Niños Holiday Festival, the Fresno State Chicano Alumni’s annual event promoting literacy in the family with Christmas stories read to children, is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at Arte Américas (1630 Van Ness Ave.) in downtown Fresno.
The featured storyteller is Ben Romero of Fresno, whose new book, “Chicken Beaks Revisited: An Hispanic Adolescence,” describes growing up Hispanic in New Mexico during the late 1950s and early ’60s. “
