“GUADALUPE “pays homage to the Virgin of Guadalupe and celebrates the 475th anniversary of the Virgin’s apparitions in the Tepeyac. The film is directed by Santiago Parra, produced under the Dos Corazones Films banner and distributed by Slowhand Release. To honor this significant celebration, a group of impassioned Catholics “Guadalupanos” from Mexico City, set out to create the impressive and inspiring movie GUADALUPE.

The story is set at the present time, when Jose Marí and her sister Mercedes, two scientists who have devoted their lives to archaeology and history, decide to investigate the Virgin of Guadalupe’s legend. Driven by their curiosity and by the situation they are living, Jose Marí and Mercedes’ lives drastically change all because of the apparition of the Virgin’s image on Juan Diego’s robe.

SYNOPSIS
Five hundred years ago, in the midst of America’s conquest, an enigmatic painting appeared stamped in an Indian’s robe. The image, with a woman’s face, created such exhilaration that it managed to immediately unite the Indian and the European cultures. Who was that woman? What did the Spaniards and Indians see in this mysterious figure, to mend matters and live peacefully?

Five hundred years passed for science to determine that the image “appears to be from another world”. José Marí and his sister Mercedes, two scientists who have devoted their lives to archaeology and history, decide to analyze the figure, driven by their innate scientific interest. Both have been marked by a traumatic childhood, leading them to a critical point in their lives. What initially seemed to be a mere scientific study evolved into a personal discovery that will drastically change their existence?

The power of Guadalupe’s image is as powerful today as it was 500 years ago.
