“But the brazen Nov. 26 abduction of five men from a private hunting ranch in the Mexican state of Coahuila has spooked some American outdoorsmen, outfitters say. And the owners of hunting and fishing lodges in Mexico are worried that such crimes could cripple what has become a multimillion-dollar business.
”It’s going to hurt us, if it gets out on a nationwide level,” said Arnoldo Rodriguez, 39, who owns two bird hunting camps in neighboring Tamaulipas state.
Dozens of hunting and fishing lodges operate south of the 1,951-mile U.S.-Mexico border, hosting an estimated 30,000 to 50,000 clients annually, operators say.”
