Mega TV to Offer South Florida the Best Coverage for the Venezuelan Elections and the Commemoration of the Arrival of Granma to the Island of Cuba

“MEGA TV announced today that it will begin its exclusive news coverage of the Venezuelan elections beginning on Friday, December 1st. The special broadcast is further example of Mega TV’s ongoing commitment to covering the issues that matter most to the South Florida community.

Beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 1st, Mega TV’s Mega News will broadcast the most up-to-date news and information out of Caracas, Venezuela. At 8:00 p.m., renowned journalist Maria Elvira Salazar will broadcast a very special edition of “Polos Opuestos,” recapping the day’s events in Venezuela as the country prepares for one of the most controversial elections in Latin American history.

On Saturday, December 2nd, Mega TV will continue its compelling political coverage with a live broadcast of the annual Fidel Castro birthday celebrations held in communist Cuba, including coverage of Castro’s arrival to the island aboard the boat Granma. Castro, who turns 80 on Saturday, has turned this event into a national holiday in Cuba, representing significant heartache for the exiled Cuban community in Miami. The special coverage will be anchored by Mega News’ own Camilo Egaña, as well as journalist and executive producer of “Polos Opuestos,” Jorge Davila Miguel, providing viewers with insights, analysis and commentary.

Electoral coverage in Venezuela will resume on Sunday, December 3rd, at 6:30 p.m. Mega News will offer an extensive recap of the day’s events. Mega News will be followed by “Venezuela Decide,” a special edition of “Polos Opuestos con Maria Elvira Salazar.” Venezuelan journalist, Patricia Poleo, herself a political exile of the Chavez regime, will join Maria Elvira Salazar and a panel of experts on the program to discuss the election and the potential impact of the results.
