“Carpentersville may yet see an actual debate on the local effects of illegal immigration, thanks to a new group provoked in part by the mayor’s refusal to participate in the discussion.

The Fox Valley Citizens for Legal Immigration had publicly challenged Carpentersville Village President Bill Sarto to a moderated debate on the effects of illegal immigration, but Sarto did not attend Tuesday’s forum, citing a violation of the Open Meetings Act and security concerns.”
