“Faith might be the most important ingredient in the tamales made by Jose and Margaret Ornelas at the Mission Evangelica First Assembly of God Church in Platteville.

Faith helps the pastors and their crew of volunteers crank out 150-300 dozen tamales each week during most of the year. Faith helps the same crew make up to 2,000 dozen tamales (yes, that’s 24,000) during the month of December to fill the high Christmas demand. Faith has even brought timely roof repairs when it seemed the small Platteville church could not withstand another rainstorm.”
