Historical marker to honor Macario Garcia – Rosenberg, Texas

I think that sometimes we forget that Hispanics have supported this country for a quite some time.

“Millions of men were involved in combat during World War II. Although tales of courage and heroic exploits were too numerous to count, only 464 servicemen earned the nation’s highest award for valor.

Medal of Honor recipient Macario Garcia’s service to country and his important role in local history will be recognized at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27 in a dedication ceremony for an Official Texas Historical Marker awarded by the Texas Historical Commission. The event will take place at Macario Garcia Memorial Park, 716 Blume Rd. in Rosenberg.”
