“Ever since Alejandro Sanz’s career took off with his 1997 hit song “Corazón Partío” from the album “Más,” it seems he’s been trying to move further and further away from easy pop success. Unlike alternative artists such as Julieta Venegas and Juanes, who took some of the edge off their styles to move into the mainstream, Sanz gets grittier with every new release. His new album, “El Tren de los Momentos” (Warner Latina), is almost avant-garde, and it may signal the end of an era in Latin pop.”
