“For more than 20 years, Bolanos has used vibrant costuming and disciplined steps to teach youngsters dance through a focus on Mexican history, music and culture.

Seven-year veteran Quiroga steps in stride to the discipline and dedication Bolanos requires from her students.

“I love dancing because it gives me a feeling of freedom and not being lazy,” she said. “My dance teacher is dedicated, and she teaches us how to be disciplined, be responsible and how to treat people.”
