Crime Stoppers overlooks Mexican hero – Denver, Colorado

Tagged: , ,

“No good deed goes unpunished, the quip goes. Well, Florencia Castaneda Rodriguez wasn’t punished. But she is needlessly unrewarded.

Metro Denver Crime Stoppers has refused to award a penny to Castaneda, a resident of Mexico and the grandmother of convicted cop-killer Raul Gomez-Garcia. Instead, it divided a $50,000 reward among at least two other U.S.-based informants – even though without Castaneda’s help, Gomez-Garcia might still be a fugitive rather than serving an 80-year prison sentence.”
