“Catholic leaders in north and central Mississippi are renewing efforts to make the state’s growing Hispanic community feel welcomed by the church.

“We want them to know what a blessing they are,” said Brother Ted Dausch, director of the Office of Hispanic Ministry for the Diocese of Jackson.

“They haven’t always understood that,” he said.”
