Greenfield police wary of scams against Latinos - California

“About two weeks ago, a Greenfield woman received a frightening phone call. The caller told her that if she did not wire $650 to a San Diego Western Union office within an hour, agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement would go to her home and arrest her husband.

Greenfield Police Chief Joe Grebmeier said the call was typical of scams that prey on his city’s immigrant population.”
