“¡BOOM! Magazine, the leading independent magazine specialized in Latin music is celebrating it’s 10th year of journalistic excellence, focused on providing constant support to new, uprising Latin talent and serving as a platform for new proposals by analyzing on a critical manner all existing musical stereotypes.

Boom! Magazine and it’s website www.boomonline.com, were founded in 1996 by Kike Posada and Linda Carta, with the purpose of offering to the Latin youth in the United States a new and different alternative that would reveal new musical trends, different from what they were used to hear on the regular radio. To this day, ¡BOOM! Magazine is recognized as a leading institution in their field, a place where they are considered one of the most important resources of information in the music industry.

The popular publication is printed using a versatile format that includes photos, exclusive interviews and appealing sections for young readers.

¡BOOM! Magazine editor, Kike Posada, is widely recognized as the founder of the first radio show dedicated to Latin Pop/Rock in the United States. Also Kike is known for being the forerunner of Latin Pop/Rock sounds in this country, as he had to confront the skepticism of many radio programmers at the time. Thanks to the thousands of listeners who supported him he became a leader-innovator by promoting the new Latin American sounds by contributing to pave the way for popular artists and bands like Maná, Shakira, Juanes and Bacilos and set a trend in the United States, during a time in when there was no room for alternative music in regular media.

The Miami Herald has described Kike as an “Influential Personality in Arts and Culture for the XXI Century”; he has received the ASCAP (The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) award for his support to Latin music in the United States, and the International Orchid award as a prominent Colombian Talent. On top of it all, Kike is a Music and Entertainment editor for other press media, as well as a radio and TV show host. “
