Winner is first Hispanic on panel – Orlando, Florida

“Carlos Irizarry made history Tuesday by becoming the first Hispanic elected to the City Commission, with a commanding victory over first-time office-seeker John Bykowski.

The Seat 2 winner got 66 percent of the vote.

Irizarry emphasized that ethnicity was not a campaign issue and the results showed he got broad support from voters.”
