“More Hispanics, spurred by the debate over immigration, are expected to turn out at the polls in Tuesday’s General Election, group leaders say.
There are more than 37,000 Hispanics in Iowa who are eligible to vote in the election, according to the 2005 American Community Survey.
In Scott County, 2,000 Hispanics voted in 2004, while 3,000 voted in the 2000 election, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. “
