“A landmark announcement, which will have a profound and quantifying impact on the way Americans view of Hispanics in higher education and the executive workforce, was made at the (NSHMBA) 17th Annual Conference and Career Expo Oct. 27 in Cincinnati, OH. NSHMBA, the nation’s most prestigious Hispanic organization serving Hispanic professionals and MBAs, will create a new research division, which will launch The Business Journal of Hispanic Research.

The Business Journal of Hispanic Research, scheduled for launch in 2007, will be a peer reviewed research journal focused on topics that relate to Hispanic business professionals, managers, and executives as well as executives, diversity professionals and others who manage or work with Hispanic business professionals. The journal serves to act as a conduit between academic research and practice.

“The is embarking on a new era with the addition of this research dimension,” said Lourdes Hassler, CEO of NSHMBA and publisher of The Business Journal of Hispanic Research. “This historical development will provide new structure and meaning to the advancements Hispanics are making in the arenas of higher education and corporate America.”

Dr. Donna Maria Blancero will drive NSHMBA’s new research division. She holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Relations from Cornell University and is the former chair of the board for NSHMBA.
