USG Awards $5,000 to Star Drywaller Walter Arellano, Mira Loma, California from Raymond Interior Systems Orange, California at “EL MERO MERO DRYWALERO(TM) Festival’

“United States Gypsum Company (USG), the manufacturer of top-selling SHEETROCK(R) brand drywall and other high-quality finishing products for the construction and remodeling industries, announced today that Walter Arellano, of Mira Loma,Calif. won the $5,000 cash grand prize at the EL MERO MERO DRYWALERO(TM) (The Best of the Best Drywaller) competition, which identified and rewarded the top drywallers in Southern California. The final “EL MERO MERO DRYWALERO FESTIVAL” competition event took place at Plaza Mexico in Lynwood, Calif. on Sunday, Oct. 29.

The second prize winner, Marco Quinonez, Los Angeles, Calif., received $2,500 in cash, and the third prize went to Michael Nida, Long Beach, Calif., who received $1,000 in cash.

Chivas USA team member Ramon Ramirez, who is best known for participating in several World Cups on the Mexico team, attended the event to cheer for contestants, award winners and sign autographs. “
