Immigration a quiet issue in governor’s race – New York

“”Do you think English should be the official language of New York and the nation? Vote that way. Send a message. Vote on the Conservative Party line. John Faso for governor.”

That current television campaign ad from the state Conservative Party is a rare mention of immigration in the race for New York’s next governor. Immigration, especially illegal immigration, is a hot issue in other states’ races, but Republican Faso and Democrat Eliot Spitzer have mostly stuck to the economy, cutting taxes, cleaning up Albany and paying for a court order to dramatically increase school spending.”
