Latin Grammys highlight NYC’s Latin diversity

“The diversity of New York City’s Latin communities will be crowding the red carpet — almost literally — when the Latin Grammy awards are celebrated Thursday night at Madison Square Garden.

This year’s event marks the first time the seven-year-old Latin music awards ceremony has been hosted by New York City, and the first time that tickets to the show were sold to the public.

Bringing the show here gave organizers an opportunity to tell the story of the city’s Latin diversity, they said.”
