“A coalition of U.S. agencies, community leaders and foreign consulates encouraged Spanish-speaking immigrants in Houston to report labor abuses and other problems without fear of retaliation.

The Justice and Equality in the Workplace Program was designed to educate workers about their rights and guide them through the U.S. government bureaucracy to file complaints against abusive employers, said Carlos I. Gonzalez Magallon, the Mexican consul general here.”
