Six days later, he will debut a concert performance of new and old songs from his Spanish-language repertoire, Ricky Martin: MTV Unplugged, on CD and DVD. During late August of this year, Ricky Martin took to a stage in Miami for an evening he had long-desired, an intimate performance for MTV’s revered Unplugged series. Forgoing his previous large scale productions, this night found Martin stripped down to a lush acoustic environment that let the GRAMMY and LATIN GRAMMY winning superstar direct his famed performance energy into compelling vocal deliveries of favorite Spanish language songs from throughout his career and three new songs specifically created for the night’s special format. With early fan response already propelling first single/new song “Tu Recuerdo” quickly up the Latin radio charts, the full results of this career landmark performance will be unveiled as “Ricky Martin: MTV Unplugged” will have it’s broadcast premiere at 10PM (EST) on November 1st as the first “Unplugged” taped for MTV’s new bicultural network MTV Tr3s. The special broadcast will simultaneously be aired by MTV Latin America, MTV Puerto Rico and MTV Networks new high-definition channel MHD. The following week will see the U.S. release of both CD & DVD formats of Ricky Martin: MTV Unplugged (SONY/BMG) on November 7.
