“Protesters mourned their dead and vowed not to give up their campaign to oust Oaxaca state’s governor, while residents tried to recover some normality in this embattled city that depends mainly on tourism.

A few tourists wandered around Oaxaca’s central square, which had been the protesters’ center of operations prior to Sunday’s police raid, and workers on Tuesday cleaned up mounds of trash and hastily painted over graffiti-splattered buildings.”
