“The 6-year, $61 million federally funded project will enroll about 16,000 Latinos, including 4,000 in the Chicago area, researchers announced Tuesday.

Study participants in Chicago, Miami, New York City and San Diego will undergo a series of medical exams and have their health tracked for at least four years. The goal is to better understand the health risks faced by Latinos, who suffer from a disproportionately high rate of diabetes and high blood pressure, among other conditions.”
