Latino Health Alliance Reviews 2006 Legislative Session - California

“Assemblymember Leland Yee (D-San Francisco/Daly City) earned a 100 percent record on the 2006 Legislative Review issued by the Latino Health Alliance (LHA), a collaborative effort of five leading advocacy organizations – the California Immigrant Welfare Collaborative, California Primary Care Association, Latino Coalition for a Healthy California, Latino Issues Forum, and the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund.

LHA’s review of the 2006 session examined eight priority bills, including SB 1405, a bill authored by Senator Nell Soto (D-Pomona) and co-authored by Assemblymember Yee. SB 1405 would have established a task force on reimbursement for language access services. Supporters are currently working to address the issue administratively.”
