Knowledge is Power!

“Elections are just around the corner and AARP has a simple message for Hispanic voters: Get the Facts. Use the Power. Vote. Today, AARP hosted an election issues forum in the Bronx with the goal of getting Hispanic voters the facts on issues important to older New Yorkers before they vote. AARP also marked the day by releasing several voter guides in Spanish.

“In the last election cycle millions of Hispanics were registered to vote but didn’t because they felt they didn’t understand the issues — our efforts are aimed at making sure all voters get the facts before election day,” said Yvette Martinez, associate state director for AARP New York State. “We’re here to cut through election year rhetoric, by providing non-partisan information on election year issues, like the high price of prescription drugs and the future of Social Security, and encouraging people to vote.”"
