“On Thursday, November 2nd Al Borde, the award-winning Latin Alternative entertainment publication, celebrates its second annual free Dí de los Muertos Concert and Arts Festival in East Los Angeles’s El Gallo Plaza, to support local artists and students. More than 600 edgy, bilingual and bi-cultural Hispanic college students, art enthusiasts and young professionals are expected to come together and enjoy an evening of art exhibits and live musical performances.

Los Angeles-based community groups, colleges and universities will build their own “Day of the Dead”-themed altars for the chance to win $500 in cash and prizes. The evening’s art exhibition will be made up of original, two-dimensional artwork submitted by local artists. The winner of the art contest will receive feature editorial coverage in Al Borde as well as a personalized art exhibition at Casita del Pueblo, a retail store and art gallery located in uptown Whittier. “
