“During the years of this initiative, there have been states that have not tested Hispanics on the Spanish version of the GED test, one of the three official versions. I first reported this in an article published by the NAHP on its website. Some states continue to either disregard the Spanish GED, even as their Hispanic populations grow, or the GED programs only indicate that the Spanish version is available “on request.”

Stay the course President Bush and your educational policies will benefit Hispanics very little or not at all. We now know that there are more than fourteen million Hispanic adults who have not finished high school living in the United States and not the seven million cited by the “Special Commission” in its report. So things are much worse for the Hispanic community.”
