The proposal from Solis, whose congressional district covers in East Los Angeles, aims to ease the naturalization process for military members and their immediate families who are not U.S. citizens.

“Rep. , D-Calif., says she is “extremely disappointed” that the Department of Veterans Affairs will not establish a task force to study the possibility of providing services to veterans with limited English proficiency.

“This blatant refusal to act is a slap in the face of those who are proudly serving our nation,” said Solis, who urged the Bush administration to reconsider.”
