“That Mets general manager Omar Minaya fashioned a winning team with a distinct Latin flavor is undeniable. Twelve Latino players were on the NLCS roster and 24 played for the Mets during the 2006 season. Born in the Dominican Republic and raised in Corona, Minaya crafted a clubhouse that mirrors the streets of Queens and beyond.
