“A teacher was shot to death in Oaxaca, the latest violence in this historic Mexican city paralyzed for months by protesters, police said.

Panfilo Hernandez, 48, was walking in the Jardin neighborhood late Wednesday when gunmen traveling in a car opened fire, said a state police official, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media.”
