Spanish film industry demands more protection against US megahits

“Spanish actors, directors and producers have demanded the European authorities a real compromise to defend European film industry against Hollywood blockbusters. Thus, representatives of the Spanish film industry have asked EU authorities to promote European cinema.

Members of the large Spanish delegation made these statements during the opening of the season “20 years of Spanish cinema,” held in Brussels in order to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Spain joining the European Union (EU).”
