Hispanics first to conquer and settle the Americas

“Those who lament that the United States is being “invaded” by Hispanics should keep in mind who came to this land first. As we know, Native Americans have occupied this territory since time immemorial.

Historians tell us that before 1492, the American continent was unknown to the rest of the world. On Oct. 12, 1492, Christopher Columbus, on behalf of the King and Queen of Spain, took possession of Guanahani Island (currently known as Watling) in the Bahamas. Columbus called this area El Salvador.”
