“In one of the cradle states that birthed the Civil Rights Movement in this country, Mississippi, there was a town meeting in Tupelo, Mississippi yesterday to address of all things — race relations.

Now, one would think that by now race is a non-issue. After all, that’s what politicians, conservatives and talk show pundits want us to believe. But if race is still a topic of contention in Tupelo, Mississippi, then it’s a good bet the rest of the country is not yet colorblind when it comes to seeing people for their abilities and attributes.”
