“UTEP professor and computer science chair Ann Quiroz Gates is named in Hispanic Business magazine’s “100 Influentials List 2006.”

The magazine’s October issue spotlights 100 extraordinary individuals chosen for their efforts in raising the Hispanic profile and for serving as role models in their communities.

“I am honored and feel a sense of humility because I know that there are many Hispanics who are worthy of this recognition but have gone unnoticed,” Gates said. “Many colleagues, friends, and family members have contributed to my success, and they should be recognized as well.”"
