Knowledge is Power!
“In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month and the many contributions that Hispanics have made to the United States, Reading Is Fundamental Inc. (RIF), the nation’s oldest and largest children and family literacy organization, and LeapFrog Enterprises Inc., a leading developer of technology-based learning products, today announced the launch of new bilingual resources on RIF’s award-winning website. These resources, made possible by the generous support of LeapFrog, include a downloadable Spanish/English activity book and a new quarterly bilingual eNewsletter. LeapFrog will also donate more than $100,000 in LeapPads and companion Spanish, English and bilingual LeapPad books to RIF programs that serve predominantly Spanish-speaking populations.
“The role that the family plays in encouraging a child to read cannot be overstated,” noted RIF CEO and President Carol H. Rasco. “By creating new bilingual resources, which are both informative and fun, RIF is happy to offer additional support to parents looking to strengthen their crucial roles as reading motivators for their children. We are also extremely grateful to our long-time partners at LeapFrog, for their ongoing generosity to RIF and for their support of children’s literacy.”
