“The message is in the meaning. So it probably should be no surprise that Celebra La Vida Con Salud, a national health education campaign targeting the Hispanic community, starts with festivals like one at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens.

“Celebra La Vida Con Salud means, ‘Celebrate A Healthy Life’ and at the crux of this is that Latinos love celebrations regardless of our country of origin,” said Executive Director of Celebra La Vida, Carmen Ramos-Watson. “Of course we love celebrations, but the message is, without health there’s not much to celebrate. So what we want to get the community focus on is celebrating life in a healthy way.” “
