“Dallas school trustees appear ready to relax a year-old policy requiring principals at mostly Hispanic schools to learn Spanish.

Trustees on Thursday discussed allowing schools to meet the policy so long as a principal or assistant principal speaks the language of their students. Currently, that’s the rule for middle and high schools; all district elementary principals, however, must be bi-lingual by 2008.”
